Ji Songyin is a photographer and visual culture researcher based in Gothenburg and Shanghai. Ji's work is deeply influenced by the political environment, religious thought, and folklore memory. Ji mainly discusses topics such as anti-anthropocentrism, defamiliarization, capitalist critique, and social alienation. Ji's most common means of production include photography, curation, and critical writing. Ji's current research focuses on the provocative nature of the image, especially the role of the image in a series of events involving centralized propaganda, conspiracy theories, and pseudo-history.
